Luke Gannon

Gannon is the second player to qualify for the U.S. Open from the Illini Country Club local site (Sam Stevens). Gannon shot 6-under 136 on the Ocean Course of The Olympic Club to garner one of the five available spots from the final qualifer. At Southern Illinois, the Wichita, Kan., native led the Salukis to a pair of Missouri Valley Conference titles in 2016 and 2019. He also was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference selection. He turned pro in 2019 and this year qualified to play on PGA Tour Canada. He once worked as a janitor to help fund his travels/expenses to junior and summer amateur tournaments.
