The Santa Clara graduate will be making his U.S. Open debut after shooting 6-under-par 138 at Ansley Golf Club's Settindown Creek Course in Roswell, Ga. McCarty, a Scottsdale, Ariz., native, received his undergraduate degree in finance in 2020, and then he earned a master's degree in 2021 in marketing. Currently competing on the Korn Ferry Tour after spending the 2021 season on PGA Tour Canada. His lone professional win is the 2021 Wyoming Open. He competed in the 2019 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball at Bandon Dunes.
