Calkins will make his U.S. Open debut after sharing medalist honors in the Bend, Ore., final qualifier conducted at Pronghorn Resort. Calkins posted a 36-hole total of 8-under 136. Calkins currently plays on the Dakotas Tour, where he has registered seven victories over the past four years. He was that circuit's player of the year in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Calkins was an oustanding high school pitcher in the state of Washington, posting a 7-0 record with 48 strikeouts in 53 innings. He played golf for one season at the College of Spokane before deciding to turn professional at 19.
