Matthews will return to The Country Club where he was a U.S. Amateur quarterfinalist nine years ago. He qualified for his first U.S. Open by surviving an 8-for-3 playoff at Century and Old Oaks Country Clubs in Purchase, N.Y. The native of Dupont, Pa., owns one victory on the Korn Ferry Tour, the 2022 Astara Golf Championship. He also has registered three victories on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica, the last coming in the 2021 Club at Weston Hills Open in a playoff over Sam Stevens, who also has qualified for this year's U.S. Open. Matthews played collegiately at Temple University.
