The former Stanford All-American and two-time USA Walker Cup competitor (2011 and 2013) earned his fourth U.S. Open start via the Powell, Ohio, qualifier conducted at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club and Wedgewood Golf & Country Club. Rodgers posted 6-under 137 to earn one of the 13 spots. The Avon, Ind., native had a decorated amateur career that included a remarkable 11 college victories at Stanford, tying the record of Tiger Woods. He won the 2014 Ben Hogan Award for being the nation's top amateur golfer, the same year he spent 16 weeks atop the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Rodgers also won the 2010 Western Junior and 2011 Porter Cup. Since turning professional in 2014, Rodgers has registered one victory, the 2015 Pacific Rubiales Colombia Championship on the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour). Rodgers nearly registered his first PGA Tour win at the 2018 RSM Classic, only to lose in a playoff to Charles Howell III.
