Became the first golfer in 29 years to win consecutive U.S. Open titles. After his breakthrough victory at Erin Hills in 2017 when he posted 16-under 272, Koepka posted 1-over 281 at Shinnecock Hills to beat Tommy Fleetwood by a stroke. He is the seventh player all-time to win consecutive U.S. Open titles. His 2018 U.S. Open triumph came in a year when he was sidelined four months with ligament damage in his left wrist, which forced him to miss the Masters. In August 2018, Koepka became the fifth player to win the PGA Championship and U.S. Open in the same year with his two-stroke win over Tiger Woods at Bellerive C.C. in St. Louis. He then successfully defended that title at Bethpage State Park's Black Course, defeating good friend Dustin Johnson by two strokes. That vaulted him back to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. His performance at Bethpage came one month after he nearly won the Masters, falling one stroke short of Tiger Woods at Augusta National Golf Club. He nearly won a third consecutive U.S. Open, but Gary Woodland held him off for a three-stroke win at Pebble Beach. As a collegian at Florida State University, Koepka won three events and earned All-American honors. He also was a member of the 2016, 2018 and 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup, and 2017 and 2019 Presidents Cup Teams. He currently owns eight PGA Tour titles. He missed the 2020 U.S. Open due to knee and hip issues.
