Tony Finau

One of the longest hitters in the game, Finau broke through for his first PGA Tour win at the 2016 Puerto Rico Open in a sudden-death playoff over Steve Marino. Previously, the Utah native had won once on the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour), claiming the 2014 Stonebrae Classic. In the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, Finau earned his way into Sunday's final pairing with Brooks Koepka by shooting a third-round 65. He wound up finishing fifth. Finau also was in the final grouping at the 2019 Masters with Tiger Woods and Francesco Molinari after carding a third-round 64; he wound up tied for fifth. Finau eschewed going to college by turning pro in 2007 at the age of 17. He tied for 14th in his first U.S. Open start at Chambers Bay in 2015. Finau is of Tongan and American Samoa descent, the first person of such ancestry to compete on the PGA Tour. His cousin is NBA player Jabari Parker. Finau and his younger brother, Gipper, competed together on Golf Channel's Big Break in 2009. As a 16-year-old amateur, he defeated Daniel Summerhays in the final match of the 2006 Utah State Amateur Championship. He has represented the U.S. in the 2019 President Cup and 2018 and 2021 Ryder Cup Matches.
