The Canadian will make his fourth U.S. Open start after shooting 9-under-par 133 in final qualifying held at Royal Oaks and Lakewood country clubs in Dallas, Texas. Taylor made history in 2009, carding a second-round 65 on the Black Course at Bethpage State Park, the lowest round by an amateur in U.S. Open history. Taylor enjoyed a decorated amateur career, winning the 2007 Canadian Amateur, the 2009 McCormack Medal for being the leading amateur in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, and the 2010 Ben Hogan Award. The former University of Washington star was the runner-up in the 2009 U.S. Amateur Public Links to left-hander Brad Benjamin at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.. As a professional, Taylor has won twice on the PGA Tour: the 2014 Sanderson Farms Championship and the 2020 AT&T National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach.
