All direct player and fan contact and interaction is prohibited. For the health and safety of everyone on-site, no autographs, handshakes, fist bumps, photographs or selfies will be permitted, and all volunteers and fans are encouraged to maintain social distancing. Violation of this policy may result in expulsion and loss of ticket privileges for the remainder of the championship.

To ensure a positive experience for all fans and players, the following Championship Code of Conduct will be enforced at all times. Fans will be subject to expulsion and loss of ticket privileges for the following breaches of etiquette:

  • Making rude, vulgar, or other inappropriate comments or gestures
  • Verbal or physical harassment of players, volunteers, officials, or fans
  • Yelling and/or distracting a player or any disruption of play or fan environment

To enhance your experience on-site at Torrey Pines Golf Course, the USGA will offer complimentary Wi-Fi powered by Cisco within all grandstands, at each of the four (4) Fan Oases, all admission gates, the Merchandise Pavilion and in other large fan gathering areas.

The USGA is committed to providing a positive and user-friendly experience for all fans with disabilities and is pleased to provide the following services:

  • Accessible parking spaces for all vehicles having appropriate HD/DP license plates or placards will be reserved at all parking locations.
  • The Disability Services Committee will be onsite to assist fans with disabilities, with multi-person golf carts and wheelchair accessible transportation to and from Disability Services Headquarters and specific grandstand and facility locations throughout the golf course via a fixed transportation route with predetermined stops.

The USGA is committed to creating a safe environment on-site and has developed procedures for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing facilities and touchpoints. The USGA will also have sanitization stations located throughout the grounds for general use, and PPE will be made available to fans who request it. Additionally, the USGA has developed a Food & Beverage program in coordination with local health officials to ensure food preparation, dining areas and service meet current COVID-19 CDPH health guidelines.

The USGA is taking significant measures to mitigate the risk of transmission of COVID-19 while conducting its championships. Despite these measures, complete elimination of risk of exposure and infection to COVID-19 is not currently possible.

If you choose to attend the 2021 U.S. Open Championship, you must follow all mitigation measures implemented by the USGA with respect to COVID-19. These requirements are a condition of working and/or attending the Championship and you will not be permitted to attend if you fail to meet these requirements.

Please note that at this time, the following guidelines will be in effect per CDPH guidance:

  • All attendees must verbally attest that vaccination against COVID-19 has occurred at least 14 days prior to the first day attending the Championship or that a negative COVID-19 test result has been received within 72 hours of attending the championship if taking a PCR test or 24 hours if taking an antigen test.
  • If you are unable to verbally attest to vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result you will not be permitted to attend the championship and your ticket may be forfeited.
  • If you had COVID within the last 90 days, and you are past your CDC recommended isolation period of 10 days and your symptoms have significantly improved, you will need to provide proof of a positive result from a COVID test taken within 90 days prior to your entry into the championship. Adults 18 and older must also show a photo ID which matches any supporting documentation.
  • There will be no on-site testing at Torrey Pines Golf Course. UCSD Health offers drive-up testing appointments to the public for COVID-19, with results available within 48 hours. Drive-up testing is by appointment only. The cost is $50, payable by credit card at the test site. To schedule a test online, please visit UCSD’s COVID-19 Information website at health.ucsd.edu/coronavirus. Please schedule accordingly to allow receipt of your test result, within 72 hours of your first day attending the championship.
  • Per CDPH guidelines, fully vaccinated fans will not be required to wear a mask indoors or outdoors.  Unvaccinated individuals should wear a mask outdoors when unable to socially distance and are required to wear a mask when indoors at all times.
  • Per CDPH transportation guidelines, all fans should wear masks while on championship shuttle buses.

Despite measures to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, total elimination of risk of exposure and infection to COVID-19 is not currently possible. Therefore, by attending the U.S. Open Championship, all attendees assume the risk and liability for any exposure to COVID-19 and any related loss, liability, or injury incurred at this championship at all times.

Due to limited capacity, complimentary tickets for juniors will not be offered this year.

While staying in touch with family and friends and capturing your on-site experience is encouraged, use of a mobile device should not disrupt players or play during the Championship. Fans may carry mobile devices smaller than 7” in length and/or height. All volume controls must be set to “silent” or “vibrate” and flash photography should be disabled. Phone calls should be limited to areas away from play and not in any area that may disrupt play, including grandstands. Photography, video, and audio recording are permitted throughout the course, but content must not be used for commercial purposes nor can it disrupt play. No live streaming or shot-by-shot coverage (with or without video) is permitted.

Violation of the above policy may result in immediate expulsion and loss of ticket privileges for the remainder of the championship.
