2016 Championship | Eun Jeong Seong, 16, of the Republic of Korea, holed a 40-foot birdie putt on the 36th hole to hold off Italy's Virginia Elena Carta, 1 up, at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa, to become the first player to win the U.S. Women's Amateur and U.S. Girls' Junior titles in the same year. Two weeks earlier, Seong successfully defended her U.S. Girls' Junior title. Seong, who lost the 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links championship match, also became the youngest player in USGA history to reach four finals. |
