Gooch, a former standout at Oklahoma State, is set to make his second U.S. Open start after being among the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking as of May 23. Gooch turned professional in 2014 and has competed both on the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) and PGA Tour. The Midwest City, Okla., native broke through for his first PGA Tour win in 2021 when he triumphed at the RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club. His first professional win came in the 2107 Sentinal Open on the Web.com Tour. As an amateur, he won the 2012 Oklahoma Stroke Play.
