Will be making his fourth U.S. Open start after qualifying for the season-ending Tour Championship. Earlier in 2022, Niemann registered his second PGA Tour victory by edging Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young by two strokes at the Genesis Invitational at The Riviera Country Club. In 2017, Niemann claimed the McCormack Medal for being the top player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, but he forfeited his 2018 U.S. Open spot when he turned professional after the Masters. He earned an invitation to Augusta National by winning the 2018 Latin America Amateur Championship in his hometown of Santiago, Chile. Niemann broke through for his first PGA Tour victory in the 2019 Military Tribute at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. He represented Chile in the 2016 World Amateur Team Championship and represented the International side in the 2019 Presidents Cup.
