Schneider will make his U.S. Open debut after gaining entrance into the field via a four-event U.S. Open series on the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour). In his last three events, Schneider posted three top-10s, including solo fourth in the Dutch Open. The German owns five professional victories, three of which have come on the European Challenge Tour. Two of those victories came in 2021 at the Kaskada Golf Challenge and Open de Portugal. Before turning professional, Schneider won the 2012 Australian Amateur and 2009 Austrian Amateur. He was a member of the German World Amateur Team that took third place in Turkey in 2012. This will be his second major-championship start after missing the cut in last year's Open Championship.
