The South African will make his second U.S. Open start, thanks to being No. 1 on the Order of Merit on the Sunshine Tour as of May 23. Norris owns 10 worldwide wins, six of which have come on the Japan Golf Tour and another three on the Sunshine Tour. His last victory came in the 2022 Styen City Championship, an event co-sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour and DP World Tour (formerly European Tour). He also won the 2021 Japan Open Golf Championship, and the 2017 Japan Golf Tour Championship. Norris' best major-championship finish came in the 2018 Open Championship when he tied for 61st. In 2002, he represented South Africa in the World Amateur Team Championship. He then turned professional shortly thereafter.
