118th U.S. Open: Tickets    Field

To better serve spectators during this summer’s U.S. Open Championship at iconic Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will add multiple trains throughout U.S. Open week, June 11-17, providing a convenient way to travel to golf’s ultimate test.

To accommodate increased ridership and encourage the use of mass transit, the LIRR will provide service for fans traveling from both New York City and eastern Long Island.

LIRR riders will arrive at a temporary train platform provided by the USGA and located adjacent to the Stony Brook Southampton College campus. Commuters will proceed through security screening prior to crossing a pedestrian bridge spanning County Route 39 to reach the championship grounds.

Numerous morning and afternoon trains will be scheduled each day with service increasing during championship rounds, June 14-17. A schedule will be posted at mta.info/lirr and accessible via usopen.com and the U.S. Open app, which will be available for download on May 31.

LIRR tickets can be purchased beginning May 21 at ticket machines, staffed ticket offices or through the MTA eTix mobile app. Visitors are encouraged to buy roundtrip tickets in advance.

“We understand that the U.S. Open fan experience starts well before someone arrives at the venue,” said Reg Jones, managing director, U.S. Open Championships. “Partnering with the LIRR allows us to provide a convenient door-to-door option to the championship for our fans.”
